When I start to see lilacs pop up this time of year, I can't help but think about the lovely lilac tree on Bloomsbury Street. This street was a very special place for me because both my Nanny and Grammy & Grampy lived there - I remember one day Grampy was picking some lilacs from his tree and made sure to bring some over to my other grandmother when we went to visit. It made her day and the smell of a lilac always makes my day as well!
I also started my love of old treasures by searching around in the basement of 7 Bloomsbury with my sister, that's a story for another day! In the meantime, I anxiously await this season's lilacs...
Beautifulness as seen on Greige

I remember picking lilacs when we visited you! At the pond. When I was little we would smell them upstairs through the window. Wonderful memories.
ReplyDeletelove the pics and the story!
ReplyDeleteSuch good memories. Lilacs will always remind me of Bloomsbury St. as well; the smell almost conjures up images of Grammy and Grampy.
